López Secures Moto2 Pole Position in Aragón

Alonso López clinched pole position for the Aragón Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the final phase of qualifying conducted on Saturday morning (29) at MotorLand, the track located in Spain, the Gresini rider set his best lap at 1:49.405, earning the top spot.

The second position went to Izán Guevara, a Pramac rider who finished 0.179 seconds behind López. The front row also includes Daniel Holgado, third on an Aspar bike. Championship leader Manuel González starts in fourth with Intact GP, while David Alonso, of Aspar, begins fifth. Collin Veijer, from Ajo, completes the list of the six fastest.

Barry Baltus, on a Fantic bike, starts from seventh position, while Ángel Piqueras, the MSI rider, begins eighth, followed by Alex Escrig, ninth on KLINT. Filip Salač, on an American Racing Team bike, starts tenth, with Senna Agius of Intact GP in 11th. The top-12 on the grid also includes Joe Roberts, Salač’s teammate.

The Aragón Moto2 Grand Prix will be held this Sunday (the 30th), with the start scheduled for 7:15.
