Ferrari has wrapped up another round of testing for potential upgrades to its 499P, the FIA World Endurance Championship challenger, at the Circuit of The Americas.
Coming off last weekend’s victory at Lone Star Le Mans, the Prancing Horse remained at the Texan venue for two additional days of testing on Tuesday and Wednesday to continue evaluating a range of Evo joker updates for the Hypercar program that recently claimed the crown.
Factory drivers James Calado, Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Yifei Ye participated in the session, which also featured the current-spec 499P. For Calado, Nielsen and Ye, it marked their first time aboard the 2027 test car.
This event represents Ferrari’s second run with its camouflage-painted test mule, following an initial two-day outing at the end of last month at Monza, where Fuoco shared driving duties with Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and Miguel Molina.
Ferrari has a packed autumn testing schedule, beginning with a one-day test at Fuji Speedway on Sept. 29, two days after the 6 Hours of Fuji.
That will be followed by further runs at Silverstone on Oct. 7 and at Barcelona on Oct. 20, coming shortly after next month’s WEC race at the Spanish venue.
Ferrari sits third in the WEC manufacturers’ standings after its Circuit of the Americas victory, with Fuoco, Molina and Nielsen sharing driving duties—a first win in what has been a strenuous title defense.
The 2027 update, which remains to be finalized, is set to mark the first deployment of Evo joker upgrades on the 499P since the middle of the 2024 season.
