Nikola Tsolov claimed victory on Saturday morning (4) in the Sprint race that opened the seventh round of the 2026 Formula 2 season at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Campos Racing driver waged a tough duel with Gabriele Mini in the final laps, pulling off the overtake on the last of the 21 laps to take his fifth win of the year.
Mini, in an MP Motorsport car, secured second place after having to fend off a late challenge from Rafael Villagómez, who completed the podium in third with a Van Amersfoort machine. Kush Maini of ART Grand Prix finished fourth, followed by his teammate Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, who ended up fifth.

Dino Beganovic, driving for DAMS, crossed the line in sixth place, while Roman Bilinski, also with DAMS, finished seventh. The points-scoring positions were completed by Joshua Durksen, eighth for Invicta Racing. Alexander Dunne of Rodin Motorsport finished ninth, while Rafael Câmara of Invicta completed the top ten. Emmo Fittipaldi ended up 18th for AIX.
The race featured a Safety Car deployment early on Lap 2 after John Bennett and Sebastian Montoya. The Trident driver spun after being forced onto the grass by Colton Herta, while the Prema driver, who had been leading the Sprint in Austria, also went off the track. Both retired.
The main Formula 2 race will be held on Sunday (the 5th), with a start time from 7:15 a.m.
