F2 Reveals 2027 Calendar With Mexico and Turkey

October 5, 2026

Formula 2, the principal feeder category to Formula 1, revealed on Monday (the 5th) its calendar for the 2027 season. The category will continue with 14 rounds contested in the current format, featuring one Sprint race and a main race, and its news include maintaining the races in North America, which took place for the first time this year due to conflicts that prevented events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The championship will open between March 12 and 14 with the Bahrain round at the Sakhir circuit, and it will conclude on December 10-12, with races scheduled for the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. In addition to these two rounds, the Middle East also has events slated for Saudi Arabia in Jeddah and in Qatar at Lusail.

“I am very excited to add three new venues in a financially sustainable way, with Montreal returning after its surprise inclusion in 2026 and the first participation of Istanbul and Mexico City. We will cover the freight costs so that the geographic expansion of the calendar does not impose a financial burden on our teams,” says Bruno Michel, CEO of Formula 2.

“With a calendar spanning four continents and a carefully distributed sequence of rounds, Formula 2 will offer teams and drivers a demanding and diverse season, while taking the category to new audiences and strengthening its position as a global platform for the next generation of Formula 1 talents,” Michel adds.
