F2: Câmara Takes Pole in Belgium on Final Lap

Rafael Câmara clinched pole position for the eighth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season. In the qualifying held this Friday (17) at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the Invicta Racing driver clocked his best lap at 1:56.306, earning the top spot for Sunday’s race.

The front row will also include Thai driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, of ART Grand Prix, who was beaten by Câmara by 0.039 seconds. Alexander Dunne, driving for Rodin Motorsport, lines up third, while Nikola Tsolov, the championship leader, starts fourth with Campos Racing. John Bennett, from Trident, completes the top five.

Dino Beganovic, the DAMS driver, will start from sixth position, while Joshua Durksen, Câmara’s teammate at Invicta, starts seventh, sharing the fourth row with Roman Bilinski, eighth with DAMS. Martinius Stenshorne of Rodin and Noel León of Campos Racing complete the top 10, with the Mexican starting ahead in the Sprint. Emmo Fittipaldi starts 15th with AIX Racing.

The session featured two red-flag stoppages. The first came in the early minutes with León. Then, in the closing moments, Laurens van Hoepen had to stop on the track.

The Formula 2 Sprint takes place this Saturday at 9:15 a.m., while Sunday will host the main race at 5:00 a.m.
