Crawford Tops Mini to Lead Unique F2 Free Practice Session in Abu Dhabi

Jak Crawford was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the final round of the 2025 Formula 2 season. In the session held in the early hours of Friday (5) at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the DAMS driver recorded a time of 1:39.545 in his best lap, which was not surpassed by his opponents.

The second position was taken by Gabriele Mini, a Prema driver who was surpassed by Crawford by 0.085 seconds. Arvid Lindblad, a Campos Racing driver who was confirmed by Racing Bulls in Formula 1 this week, was third, followed by Joshua Durksen, fourth with AIX Racing. Oliver Goethe, from MP Motorsport, completed the list of the top five drivers.

Victor Martins, from ART Grand Prix, scored the sixth-best time, finishing just ahead of Leonardo Fornaroli, the champion of the F2 season, who was seventh with Invicta. Alexander Dunne, from Rodin, Ritomo Miyata, from ART Grand Prix, and Sebastian Montoya, from Prema, closed the list of the top ten fastest drivers in the only free practice session of the weekend in the United Arab Emirates.

From 8 am, the qualifying session will be held to determine the starting positions for the two races of the final round of the season. The Sprint is scheduled for 9:15 am on Saturday, while the main event takes place on Sunday at 6:15 am.
