Jorge Martelli will face a different challenge at the opening of the NASCAR Brasil Series playoffs in Chapecó (SC). The category makes its debut on the oval track of the Autódromo between October 30 and November 1, and the driver of the #87 Chevrolet Camaro for Team RC will have three races to pursue a solid result on a track that is still new to everyone.
The main task will be to understand the car’s behavior on the oval and identify the best racing lines. Practice sessions will also be crucial to set the vehicle’s adjustments in conjunction with the engineers.
“The main challenge is to understand the oval’s characteristics, the racing lines, and the car’s behavior at high speed. The practice sessions will be fundamental to adjust these details,” explains Martelli.
The stage will also have a special meaning for the driver. Native of Coronel Freitas, a municipality neighboring Chapecó, he currently lives in Tapurah (MT) and sees the race as an opportunity to compete close to his home region.

“The expectation is very high. It’s a track that demands adaptation and strategy, and we will work hard to secure a great result in front of the Santa Catarina audience,” he says.

In addition to adapting to the track, Martelli will need to find a setup that makes the #87 Camaro fast and stable through the bends. Qualifying performance will also be important to determine the race conditions.
On the track, the plan is to seize opportunities without taking unnecessary risks. “In terms of strategy, the aim is to combine competitiveness and intelligence to aprovech opportuni-ties. We need to know the right moment to attack, without compromising our result and the team’s work,” he notes.
Preparation for the weekend includes studying the circuit and maintaining physical routines. Since the event will feature three races, maintaining consistency throughout the schedule will be important for the driver and his team.
The Chapecó stage will be the eighth of the 2026 season and will mark the start of the NASCAR Brasil Series playoffs. Activities take place from October 30 to November 1, with the series making its debut on the oval layout at the Chapecó racetrack in Santa Catarina.
