F1: Perez Prepares Mexico Tribute in Home Debut for Cadillac

October 28, 2026

Sergio Pérez will wear a special helmet for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix. The driver prepared a look inspired by Mexican culture for his first home race with Cadillac, after being out of Formula 1 in the previous season.

The helmet model was unveiled in an Instagram video. Predominantly white, the helmet features geometric designs and stylized gray figures inspired by the country’s traditional art. The Mexican flag appears on the top, while the Cadillac logo occupies the front region.

This will be the tenth appearance of the Mexican at the Mexican GP. He competed in all nine editions held between 2015 and 2024, since the race did not take place in 2020. His best results were two third places, in 2021 and 2022, both with Red Bull.

The 2021 podium had a special meaning: Pérez became the first Mexican to finish among the top three at his home Grand Prix. In total, he has six top-ten finishes and 47 points on the circuit.

The last two races in Mexico for Red Bull were tougher. In 2023, the driver retired on the opening lap after clipping Charles Leclerc in Turn 1 while attempting to take the lead. In 2024, he finished 17th.

In addition to the race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Perez will take part in an exhibition on Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City on Wednesday, October 28, ahead of the GP weekend.
