Moto3 Australian Grand Prix Canceled Due to Bad Weather at Phillip Island

October 25, 2026

The organization of the MotoGP World Championship announced late on Saturday night (the 24th) the cancellation of the Moto3 Australian Grand Prix, a race that would have taken place at the Phillip Island circuit. Weather conditions around the circuit region prevented the medical helicopter from being able to fly if necessary.

The race was initially scheduled for 21:00, Brasília time, but so far no Sunday activities in Australia had taken place. Previously, MotoGP’s warm-up had already been canceled, but there was no forecast for the start time of the races. Almost three hours after the originally scheduled time, the Moto3 race was canceled.

“Due to the delays caused by the low visibility that affects the medical helicopter, the decision taken was to cancel the Moto3 race at the Australian Grand Prix. Additional updates on the provisional schedule for the MotoGP GP will be provided at 14:00 local time,” MotoGP posted on social media.

Among the categories that comprise the MotoGP World Championship, Moto3 is the only class whose champion is already known, Máximo Quiles. The day still includes the possibility of holding races for Moto2 and Moto3, with no start times defined.
