The MotoGP series begins its Asia swing this weekend as the category heads to Japan for the Grand Prix at Motegi, the 16th round of the 2026 season. As in every event, in addition to the premier class, races in Moto2 and Moto3 will take place throughout the weekend.
The MotoGP championship arrives in Japan with Jorge Martín leading the standings, on 306 points, ahead of Marc Márquez on 294 in second place. Marco Bezzecchi, with 264, sits third, followed by Pedro Acosta, fourth with 234. Fabio Di Giannantonio, on 230, closes the top five. Diogo Moreira is in 14th with 65 points.

In Moto2, the leadership is held by Manuel González, who has 245.5 points, ahead of Izán Guevara in second with 210. Iván Ortolá occupies third with 155 points, and is followed by David Alonso, fourth with 155. The group of the top five also includes Senna Agius, who has 149 points.
In Moto3, Máximo Quiles holds the first “match point” of the season, with 306 points, ahead of second-placed Álvaro Carpe on 175. David Almansa and Brian Uriarte are tied in third with 174 points, while Marco Morelli sits fifth with 146.
Due to the time zone, activities will begin on Thursday night and continue into the early hours. The same pattern will occur on Friday and Saturday, when the race schedule opens at 11:00 PM on Saturday, with Moto3, followed by 12:15 AM with Moto2 and 2:00 AM with MotoGP. ESPN and Disney+ will broadcast the events.
