Formula 3 wraps up its 2026 season this weekend with the Madrid round in Spain, scheduled for the Madring circuit. The race will crown the champion in a title fight that features four contenders, two of whom are in a direct duel, and two others with only mathematical chances: Freddie Slater, Ugo Ugochukwu, Ernesto Rivera and Theóphile Nael.
With three races up for grabs over the weekend, the Formula 3 finale starts with Slater leading on 141 points, ahead of Ugochukwu in second on 126. Rivera has 76 and sits third, just in front of Nael with 75. Outside the title fight, Pedro Clerot sits 12th with 48 points, while Fernando Barrichello is 27th with two points on the standings.
In total, 67 points are up for grabs, and with the Sprint kicking off the triple-header, it’s certain that Slater will remain in the lead after the weekend’s first race. On the other hand, Rivera and Nael could bow out of title contention as early as Friday, due to the need for both to score nearly all the extra points to stay in title contention.
The Formula 3 schedule opens on Friday, when the lone free practice session of the weekend and the qualifying will determine the starting positions for the Madrid races. Saturday will feature two events: the Sprint at 6:05, and the main race at 13:00. The championship decision takes place on Sunday at 04:45. F1TV will broadcast the entire schedule live.
