Marc Márquez was the fastest rider in the opening free practice for the Aragón Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. The session, held on Friday morning (28) at MotorLand in Spain, saw the Ducati rider and current world champion set the best lap time of 1:47.532.
Raúl Fernández claimed second place aboard a Trackhouse Aprilia, after being edged by Márquez by 0.035 seconds. Marco Bezzecchi, on an Aprilia, was the third fastest, followed by Álex Márquez in fourth with a Gresini Ducati. The group of the five best also included Pedro Acosta, the KTM rider.

Jack Miller, aboard a Pramac Yamaha, was the sixth fastest in the session, finishing ahead of the VR46 duo, the satellite Ducati team that saw Franco Morbidelli finish seventh and Fabio Di Giannantonio eighth. Fermín Aldeguer, on a Gresini Ducati, was ninth, while Fabio Quartararo, on a Yamaha, completed the top ten. Diogo Moreira finished 13th on a LCR Honda.
From 10:00 a.m., the session that will determine which riders go directly to Q2 in the standings will take place, while Saturday will feature another free practice, the qualifying, starting at 5:50 a.m., and the Sprint at 10:00. The Aragón MotoGP Grand Prix is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
