Marco Bezzecchi claimed pole position on Saturday the 29th for the Aragón Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the final stage of qualifying held at MotorLand, the course located in Spain, the Aprilia rider broke the circuit’s record with his best lap, clocking 1:44.962 to take the top spot.
Second on the grid was Marc Márquez, the Ducati rider who finished 0.089 seconds behind Bezzecchi. Álex Márquez, on a Gresini Ducati, completed the front row in third. Raúl Fernández, aboard a Trackhouse Aprilia, started fourth, forming a second row that also included Jorge Martín, an Aprilia rider and the championship leader, and Pedro Acosta, from KTM.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, on a VR46 Ducati, starts seventh, just ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, faster in Q1 and eighth on a Ducati. Johann Zarco, returning to the grid this weekend, starts ninth with the LCR Honda, while his teammate Diogo Moreira begins tenth. Fermín Aldeguer, also returning to the grid this weekend, starts eleventh on the Gresini Ducati, and Franco Morbidelli, from VR46, completes the top twelve.
The session featured several crashes. In Q1, Moreira crashed the LCR Honda with just over two minutes remaining in the opening segment of qualifying. In Q2, with less than two minutes to go, Acosta went down on the KTM at turns 8 and 9 of the Spanish circuit.
From 10:00, the Sprint at MotorLand will be held. The Aragón MotoGP Grand Prix will be contested on Sunday, with lights-out at 9:00.
