Freddie Slater was the fastest driver in the sole free practice session for the sixth round of Formula 3. The activity held on Friday morning at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium saw the Trident driver, who is currently second in the standings, clock his best lap at 2 minutes 6.311 seconds, not being outpaced by his rivals.
The second place went to Théophile Naël, Campos Racing’s driver who was 0.151 seconds slower than Slater. Maciej Gladysz, with ART Grand Prix, finished third, followed by Ernesto Rivera in fourth for Campos Racing, the team that saw Ugo Ugochukwu, the championship leader, end the session with the fifth-fastest time.

Louis Sharp, piloted by a car prepared by Prema, logged the sixth-best time, ahead of Taito Kato, seventh with ART Grand Prix. Tuukka Taponen, from MP Motorsport, concluded the session in eighth place. Nicola Lacorte, with DAMS, was ninth, while Christian Ho, in a Rodin Motorsport car, finished the top-10.
The performances by the Brazilian drivers were modest in this opening session of the weekend. Fernando Barrichello, in an AIX Racing car, ended the practice in 23rd place. Pedro Clerot, the Rodin Motorsport driver who is currently in the top 10 of the championship, ended this session in 29th position.
Starting at 10:00, the classification will determine the starting positions for the two races. The Sprint is scheduled for 5:00 on Saturday, while the main race is set for Sunday, beginning at 3:30.
