NASCAR Brasil Leader Gabriel Casagrande Secures Third in Sprint Race at Interlagos

June 13, 2026

Three-time champion of Special Edition in NASCAR Brasil, Gabriel Casagrande was among the highlights on Saturday (30) at the third round of the 2026 season, held at the Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo. The AMattheis Vogel driver advanced to the Sprint Race that afternoon and completed the weekend’s short-distance race in third place.

The Paraná native highlighted the challenges of racing with a 30-kilogram ballast in his car, precisely because of leading the standings. Casagrande praised the strong performance of the AMattheis Vogel car and expects a Sunday filled with chances to score many points in both races, always aiming to finish the season in contention for the title.

“I’m satisfied with today. It was a tough, demanding race. We truly suffer due to the extra weight. In a light setup of 1,070 kg and 300 hp, adding 30 kg is a lot, so we’ve been suffering a lot, but when that happens it’s a sign that we’re leading,” said Gabriel Casagrande, who is sponsored by Baterias Júpiter, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet and OMP.

“The car has a very good balance that allowed me to advance through the classifications and reach the Sprint Race. Then, a very good start; I took over Vitor Andrade’s position and there wasn’t much more I could do. Finishing third was great. It’s good points for what we’re chasing, which is the championship, and I think I have a solid car to score well in both races here,” Casagrande added.

After the Sprint Race, NASCAR Brasil will run its two races for the third round on Sunday. The first one is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., with coverage on SBT and YouTube. The race that closes the São Paulo weekend starts at 2:00 p.m., broadcast on RedeTV! and YouTube.
