Franz Wittmann jr has withdrawn his entry from this year's IRC season finale in Scotland, to instead focus his attentions on next year.
Wittmann was entered on the Rally of Scotland in the Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX that he had been campaigning in this year's IRC, but he will now concentrate on securing a deal in a Super 2000 car for next year. The Austrian driver recently contested the Waldviertel rally in Austria driving a Peugeot 207 S2000 and finished 2nd overall. He will however, complete the Rally of Scotland recce in preparation for next year.
"Waldviertel was ideal for our purpose because we could test the S2000 car on the tarmac to gravel," said Wittmann. "This experience has enabled us to prepare early for the challenges ahead.
"The reconnaissance for the Scottish rally is therefore very important because the IRC will be here again next year."
