Wexford Dick Bailey Stages Rally 2008 Results: PJ McGrath wins in his Subaru S9 WRC

PJ McGrath in his S9 Subaru WRC came through as the deserved winner of the two day Wexford Stages Rally. He had a great battle with Gareth McHale and was ahead of him for most of the event. McGrath was the overnight leader but McHale took ten seconds out of him on the first stage on Sunday.

Then there was no sign of McHale on the next stage as he had slid his 06 Focus into a ditch and out of the rally. McGrath could relax a little as he had a good gap to the new second place man David James in his Focus 02 WRC and that's how they finished.

Damien Tourish had a great run to third to take Group N and the Irish Evo Challenge lead. Wesley Patterson took the two wheel honours in a slightly bent Escort and Marty McCormack wrapped up the Irish C2R2 Cup with another fine display. One notable retirement was James Stafford in his Darrian whose clutch failed on SS3.
