Amsterdam, The Netherlands (22 November, 2009) – Scotland’s wildest weather failed to dampen what was a highly successful inaugural running of the ‘RACMSA Rally of Scotland’ at the weekend, 19th – 21st November, with TW Steel, the international watch brand ‘Big in Oversized Watches’ enjoying ‘Official Supplier’ status at the event.
The final round of the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge witnessed an engaging battle between two of Britain’s leading rally drivers, Kris Meeke and Guy Wilks, as they dueled it out on the spectacular, but heavily rain-soaked, forest stages between Perth and Stirling.
The ‘RACMSA Rally of Scotland’ concluded in the grounds of Stirling Castle on Saturday afternoon with the podium presentation – including the awarding of TW Steel watches, presented by the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Stewart Bain.

“TW Steel has enjoyed and successfully activated its ‘Official Supplier’ status this weekend in Scotland,” Bain commented post event.
“This was a key opportunity for us to engage some of our Scottish-based retail partners and further establish their ties and relationship with the brand. We’ve also enjoyed the likes of Kris (Meeke) and Guy (Wilks) sporting TW Steel here in Scotland which is fantastic given the media attention surrounding their ‘Battle of Britain’ status.
Earlier TW Steel utilized Thursday evening’s ceremonial start at Scone Palace to host some key Scottish retailers, joining a select group including Scotland’s First Minister, Alex Salmond, to dine at the venue. This was followed by the opportunity to watch the weekend’s competitors blasting through the grounds of the palace before the action began in earnest on Friday.

Saturday’s return to the service park area in Stirling saw the renowned ‘Miss TW Steel’ models make an appearance – to the delight of the die hard fans braving the fierce weather conditions to support their favorite drivers. The models took time out to pose with both Kris Meeke and Guy Wilks, competing for the front-running factorysupported Peugeot and Skoda teams respectively, with both drivers showcasing their TW Steel watches throughout the weekend.
Meeke arrived in Scotland having sealed the 2009 IRC title at the previous round in Italy. To celebrate his championship success, and to thank those who helped him along the way, he presented several of his crew with specially engraved TW85’s from TW Steel’s Tech collection.
While results currently remain provisional, Kris Meeke won the rally with Guy Wilks a fighting second and Scotland’s own Alister McRae coming home third overall.
