Travis Pastrana and Ken Block might do the McRae Stages Rally
Travis Pastrana and Ken Block may contest the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally according to Motorsport News. Apparently the top ten is sorted for the rally but Louise Atken-Walker has suggested to Campbell Roy that some of Colin's contemporaries want to join the list, and there are several of McRae's friends from America who are keen. This would appear to suggest Pastrana and Block who became firm friends with McRae during his X-Games appearances.
In other McRae Stages news and it appears that Sainz will be able to confirm if he will or won't be there in the next month driving the zero car. He needs to see if it coincides with VW Dakar testing before he can confirm. It seems he will use a near identical Impreza 555 to the 1995 car that Campbell Roy has sourced in the UK. Sainz is concerned though that the MSA may not let him take part as they prefer that drivers have suitable British course car knowledge. MSA guidelines, though, recommend that the zero car driver is a licence holder, and has been involved in the event's organisation.
It looks as if Jimmy McRae will be in a Porsche after all. See other blog entries to see who else is confirmed.
Could Pastrana and Block be at the rally of the year
