Too Fast to Race – Documentary on the Group B Rally cars

A documentary chronicalling the history of the Group B category in rallying. The film begins in the late seventies when FISA, the governing body of world motorsport, consider a new formula and Lancia unleashes the Stratos.
Group B was implemented in 1982 with quite a bit of technological freedoms allowed for the manufacturers encouraging Formula 1 like performance. The resulting machines looking very unlike their production counterparts but catching the public imagination. Cars such as the Audi S1, 205 T16 E2, Ford RS200, Lancia Rally and S4, etc etc.
The film also has a look at some cars that were destined for Group B, and the replacement category Group S, but failed to materialise when both these groups were outlawed.
Cars like the Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione, Jaguar XJ 220 and the Porshe 959 are featured as the vehicles that would have competed had the categories continued.
