Should and could rallying be included in the Olympic Games

With Beijing hosting the sporting showcase and the recent very successful X Games Rally in mind, could rallying make it as an Olympic sport.

X GAMES 2008 rally jump practice with Ken Block, Dave Mirra and Niall McShea
Here’s a video of Block, McShea and Mirra practising for the 70ft jump prior to X Games 14. The jump proved pretty costly to a number of competitors, including Block and Mirra, during the games but did help raise the profile of the sport in America with an estimated 60 million plus TV viewers.

Travis Pastrana wins gold medal at 2008 X Games 14 Rally, Tanner Foust silver, as Dave Mirra and Ken Block share bronze

Travis Pastrana won another rally gold medal as he beat last year’s winner Tanner Foust in the Rally Car Racing (as it is known in the US) final of X Games 2008 rally in LA at the Home Depot Centre. Foust hit a wall when exiting the arena for the street course which affected the rest of his run and prevented a real challenge to Travis.
