The FIA World Rally Championship is set for a bright future after sweeping plans to further develop and promote the sport were approved by the FIA yesterday (24 June) at the meeting of the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in Paris.

World Rally Car S2000+ technical details announced following WMSC meeting

The new WRC technical regulations were rubber stamped today at the World Motor Sport Council meeting today.
As expected the new World Rally Cars will be based on the S2000 formula which will include an added bolt-on kit of performance parts.
The bolt-on kit of performance parts regulations have been altered from what had been originally considered, and there will now be no electronic benefits, or similar upgrades, permitted to keep costs down.
