VW planning to use Scirocco in the 2011 WRC and are discussing the technical regulations with the FIA

According to rallye-magazin.de VW represntatives have been discussing intensely the new WRC regulations at recent FIA technical meetings.

Rallye-magazin.de state that Motorsport aktuell have learned that VW want the width of a WRCar increased to 1820mm instead of the current 1800mm. Key VW Motorsport figures at Rallye Deutschland while Citroen employees sighted at latest DTM race at Nurburgring

Senior Volkswagen personnel were present at Rally Germany last weekend as reported by rallye-magazin.de. Michel Bernard and Uwe Balds, two senior figures from the VW Motorsport department, were present. Uwe Balds is responsible for press activities at VW Motorsport.

This visit adds further speculation that VW will commit to a WRC programme, incorporating the new regs, after VW motorsports boss Kris Nissen visited Rally Finland earlier in the month.
