Irish Tarmac Rally Championship changes in format following TROA meeting and 2009 Championship dates

As current Champion Eamonn Boland brings the 2008 Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship to a conclusion on the Murphy Construction Cork 20 Rally later this month changes are already being set in place for the 2009 Championship. In order to maintain the current high profile of the Championship, the Tarmac Rally Organisers Association (TROA) have introduced a range of changes to the Championship format.

Eugene Donnelly is likely to contest the Ulster Rally and Cork 20 in the Fabia

Commenting in Ireland’s Saturday Night, Maghera’s Eugene Donnelly said he will more than likely contest the final two rounds of the ITRC in the Skoda Fabia WRC. Having just recently won a shortened Donegal International Rally, Donnelly was ecstatic with the car’s performance especially the new Silverstone tyres.
