The 2011 WRC calendar should be announced later this year

International Sportsworld Communicators CEO Simon Long has revealed to autosport.com that he expects to announce the 2011 WRC calendar later this year.

ISC, who are the WRC’s global promoter, see the 2011 calendar as a new beginning for the series, along also with the introduction of the latest technical regulations (which are to be fully implemented for the 2011 season) that will be ratified at next week’s WMSC meeting.

Super 2000 World Cup being considered for inclusion in the 2010 WRC

A Super 2000 World Cup is being discussed for inclusion in the 2010 World Rally Championship, reports Autosport magazine.

The concept is designed to bring more manufacturers and private teams into the series. Ford team boss Malcolm Wilson is a pioneer of the project, which will be discussed at the next FIA WMSC meeting on June 24. The Cumbrian is ready to commit Fiesta S2000s to the new series.
