Malcolm Wilson states that Jari-Matti Latvala’s seat is safe despite Cyprus crash

Ford boss Malcolm Wilson has insisted Jari-Matti Latvala’s position in the squad is safe despite the Finn crashing out of another potential podium in Cyprus last week, according to Motorsport News.
Latvala went off the road and got stuck for 20 minutes on Saturday’s second stage before recovering to finish 12th overall.

Loeb secures 50th Win as Solberg takes 3rd – Day 3 Rally Cyprus round up

After 14 stages of the 2009 FxPro Cyprus Rally Sebastien Loeb has clinched the 50th victory of his incredible World Rally Championship career. Loeb lead the rally from start to finish, though suffered a brake scare on the final day, and won the event by 27.2seconds from Ford’s Mikko Hirvonen.

Sebastien Ogier’s nightmare on stage 8 of the Cyprus Rally

Sebastien Ogier had a rally to forget in Cyprus as he suffered a number of misdemeanours during the course of the event.
Ogier eventually retired from the rally on the final stage, following an off, after being involved in a battle for fifth with Matthew Wilson. Before this however he had a run in with a marshall’s 4X4 on the first day, after a wrong turn.
