WRC promoter Simon Long wants Kimi Raikkonen for the World Rally Championship

World Rally Championship global promoter Simon Long said he would be “extremely interested” in talking to Kimi Raikkonen about the Finn’s future beyond F1, according to Autosport magazine.

Raikkonen competed on his first asphalt rally last weekend, but crashed out of the event with a broken TCA on SS3, after suffering centre differential problems with the Punto from the start of the rally.

Raikkonen to contest Rally della Marca in Fiat Abarth Grande Punto

Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen is set to contest yet another professional rally, his third of the year.

The 2007 F1 World Champion entered two rounds of the Finnish Rally Championship in the winter, driving a Tommi Makinen-prepared Fiat Abarth Grande Punto S2000 .

The Finnish media now reports that Raikkonen, currently 13th in the 2009 drivers’ championship, will use the same car in the Rally della Marca on the weekend between the… Continue reading
