The FIA World Rally Championship is set for a bright future after sweeping plans to further develop and promote the sport were approved by the FIA yesterday (24 June) at the meeting of the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in Paris.

Max Mosley committed to safer World Rally Cars after Latvala Portugal crash

FIA president Max Mosley has stated to wrc.com that he is committed to making World Rally Cars safer following Jari-Matti Latvala’s huge crash in Portugal where he rolled 17 times down a hillside.
Mosley believes that rally car safety is a constant on-going process and feels the research will also influence the development of safety systems on road cars.
