Solberg would consider contesting S2000 World Cup following Abarth test

Petter Solberg has admitted that he would consider taking part in next year’s Super 2000 World Cup after testing an Abarth Grande Punto S2000 on gravel recently, according to Motorsport News.
The Super 2000 World Cup, which is to be introduced in 2010 as a new competition within the WRC, will be open to manufacturers and private teams alike.

Matti Rantanen to drive Munchi’s Ford Focus WRC on Rally Finland 2009

THREE CAR MUNCHI’S TEAM FOR NESTE OIL RALLY FINLAND
Matti Rantanen is to drive a Munchi’s World Rally Team Ford Focus RS WRC on Rally Finland which takes place in August.
Rantanen had a great result last year on his home WRC round when he finished seventh in a privately entered Ford Focus WRC.

2009 WRC, PWRC and JWRC Entrants – Update

The FIA have confirmed the registered entries for the Manufacturer, Production and Junior categories of the 2009 World Rally Championship following the March 1st deadline.
The Adapta World Rally Team has not registered for the WRC Manufacturers championship despite the FIA relaxing the regulations to encourage more teams to enter.
