Cork ‘20′ Rally 1985 video: Austin McHale wins in Opel Manta 400

Austin McHale (Opel Manta 400) won the 1985 Uniroyal Cork 20 Rally to beat Billy Coleman (Porsche 911 SCRS) on homeground and win the Irish tarmac championship for the second time.

There was some controversy with the result as the Rothmans team claimed they were unaware that McHale had been faster than Coleman, by almost 30 seconds, on the Lough Alloa stage during the second day of the rally. McHale’s Dealer Opel Team Ireland Manta had started the stage one… Continue reading

TOPAZ Donegal International Rally 2008 Entry List and Stages

An intriguing entry has been assembled for the 2008 event on the 13-15th of June. Some interesting combinations appear on the list, such as David Bogie in an Oakbank Services Keith Bird run 6R4 and the possibility of Niall McShea in a RGRS Polo S2000, although Niall still has to make up some of the budget.
