90 crews had registered their intention to participate in Neste Oil Rally Finland at the close of entries. That is the highest number so far in any WRC qualifying round this year. The number of World Rally Cars in the list also equals this season´s record.

There are 18 World Rally Cars among the entries and 25 different nationalities are represented altogether.

Rally Poland 2009: Results & Day 3 Overview: 2 wins in a row for Hirvonen as Latvala throws away second

Mikko Hirvonen claimed his ninth WRC win in the ORLEN Platinum 66th Rally Poland on Sunday. A second successive WRC triumph also moved the Finnish driver a single point clear of seventh-placed Sébastien Loeb in the FIA Drivers’ Championship. Driving a Ford Focus RS and co-driven by Jarmo Lehtinen, Hirvonen began the day with a 12-second lead and finished 1m 10.3s clear of Citroën’s Dani Sordo.

Rally Poland 09 – Day two roundup – Ford pair continue to dominate

Finland’s Mikko Hirvonen has extended his overall lead in the Orlen Platinum 66th Rally Poland to 12 seconds, after the 13 timed special stages at the end of day two, on Saturday afternoon.
