WRC Wales Rally GB 2009 route and stages revealed

The itinerary for the 2009 running of Wales Rally GB, the final round of this year’s WRC, has been revealed by autosport.com.
The route is set to be officially launched on 29th June and is 15 per cent different to last year. The Cardiff Bay area of the city will host the headquaters and service park of the event with Swansea no longer part of the itinerary.

Organisers of Wales Rally GB announce changes to Day 1 route

A statement has been issued today at 7.30pm by the organisers of Wales Rally GB announcing changes to Friday’s Day One route.
The Statement reads:
Despite the adverse weather conditions, all eight of Friday, 5th December’s stages are scheduled to be run. However, for the safety of spectators, marshals and competitors, the competitive route for stages one to six has been shortened.

Rally GB Fever: Classic video moments from Sweet Lamb which returns for 2008
Sweet Lamb returns for the first time to Wales Rally GB since 2000. Below are video highlights from the Welsh version of the Col de Turini.
40,000 fans used to cram into this natural amphitheatre at the Sweet Lamb bowl, in what is normally a remote part of mid-Wales. Fireworks, air-horns and cheering made the atmosphere akin to a football or rugby match.
