Ralli Viru 2009: Georg Gross wins in Markko Martin Ford Focus RS WRC 03

Georg Gross (pictured above) won the 2009 Ralli Viru, the latest round of the Estonian rally championship, in an ex-Markko Martin Ford Focus WRC 03.

Markko Martin had just recently purchased his old machine for the Autospirit team, which he runs. Gross led from start to finish with his Autospirit teammate and future star Ott Tänak second in the Subaru Impreza WRX STI N14.

Ott Tänak claimed 3rd place overall on Rally Talsi 2009

Ott Tänak and Kristo Kraag, onboard their Subaru Impreza WRX STi, finished in third place overall on the recent Talsi Rally and were second in Group N despite a puncture on the last stage (pictured above).

The final stage was 33km long but after 23 km the tyre began going down and the crew lost first place in N4 by only +3.83 seconds.

Urmo Aava says that Suzuki are currently building an S2000 car for WRC

Urmo Aava has stated to Estonian news website Postimees that Suzuki are currently building an S2000 car and will probably return to the WRC in 2011. He also added that he might have an opportunity to test and compete in the machine next year.

Aava has recently been testing  for the Suzuki WRT in Sardinia where he was assisting JWRC drivers with the set-up etc of the Suzuki Swift S1600. He also states… Continue reading
