Patrick Elliott scored a convincing win on the Galway Summer Rally to gain the Dunlop National title. Elliott driving his Subaru WRC was never headed in the rally and could ease back after his main championship rival Niall Maguire crashed his Subaru WRC on SS5 by sliding off the road.

Dessie Keenan won, as expected, the Monaghan Stages Rally ahead of Niall Maguire. Keenan though had a late scare with a puncture on the last stage but held on for the win. Patrick Elliot was third, one notable retirement was Glenn Allen who retired on SS7 with mechanical problems.
