Top Irish rally driver Derek McGarrity says that he expects the Prodrive Subarus of Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson to be on the start line for Rally Ireland, despite the annoncement of Subaru’s withdrawal from the WRC on Tuesday, according to Sammy Hamill in the Belfast Telegraph.
McGarrity has been closely involved with Prodrive for nearly ten years, trading Subarus around the world, and also competing in them with much success.

Conor McCloskey will not defend his Pacenotes MSA Northern Ireland Rally Championship title in 2009

Conor McCloskey won’t defend his Northern Irish title in 2009 as he wants to contest gravel events in England and Scotland, according to Motorsport News.

Mourne Rally 2008 Results and Championship Positions
The fifth round of the Pacenotes Northern Ireland Rally Championship marked the half way point in the series. Joining the championship regulars were Peadar Hurson and Derek McGarrity in their Subaru WRC’s, both of whom were expected to set the pace.
