The 1985 Press on Regardless Rally, based in Houghton Michigan, was won quite comfortably by Rod Millen in his rotary engined Mazda RX-7 4WD (unlike the FISA homologated Group B RX7 which was 2WD).

Rallye Principe de Asturias 2008 Day 1 Results: Vouilloz and Basso joint leaders after first day to create a bit of IRC history

After 161 competitive kilometres, the Principe de Asturias Rally has come to a thrilling conclusion at the end of day one, with Peugeot Belgium driver Nicolas Vouilloz and Abarth driver Giandomenico Basso both tied for the lead on exactly the same time! This is the first time such a situation has occurred in the history of the IRC.
