FIA World Rally Champions Honoured in Monaco

The 2008 FIA World Rally Champions were crowned at the FIA Gala in Monaco on the evening of Friday 12 December. Frenchman Sébastien Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena took honours for a fifth consecutive World title, a unique achievement in the history of the sport.

Sebastien Ogier to compete on Eifel Rallye as preparation for Rallye Deutschland

JWRC sensation Sebastien Ogier will tackle Germany’s Eifel Rally in July to prepare for Rally Germany 2008. Ogier, who has been the star of this year’s JWRC and leads the series, is also taking part in Rally Finland this year in his C2 S1600 even though it isn’t one of his nominated rallies.

Rally Argentina Day Two, Galli out, Latvala out, Wilson penalised and Villagra 5th
Big news from service is that Gigi Galli has been withdrawn due to damaged electrics mainly caused by an over zealous marshal using an extinguisher on a minor electrical fire. Wilson was late out of service so Villagra is promoted to fifth and top Ford! Latvala retired from 8th in service. Still close between the Subaru twins for second and third as Loeb continues to consolidate lead.
