Contrary to press reports Juha Kankkunen will not be at the Schackleton Festival on July 18-20

Organisers of the Shackleton Festival have confirmed that four time World Champion Juha Kankkunen will not be appearing. It was thought he might be there driving a Peugeot 205 T16 E2, owned by James Tannahill of Curtis Cars Newtownabbey, but unfortunately this will not happen as Kankkunen has prior commitments.

1985 Rallye Sanremo, Walter Rohrl scores the only WRC win for the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2

Rohrl wasn’t confident before the start of the 1985 Sanremo. The quattro S1 required much development work in the weeks and months leading up to the rally. Cracked brake discs were an on-going problem and much testing was completed on tarmac in Italy to rectify the problem, as well as tyre testing.
