Stuart Jones to contest Rallye Bohemia in his MG S2000 as Skoda Fabia S2000 scheduled to make it’s debut as course car

Posted by Scott Coursey 20 June, 2008

It has been confirmed by Mick Jones (Stuart's father) on the BritishRally.co.uk forum, that Stuart will contest Rally Bohemia on the 4-5th July, in his MSD run MG S2000. According also to Mick, is that the organisers have confirmed the event will be the debut of the Skoda Fabia S2000 as course car with possibly Jan Kopecky driving. The deal for Stuart to compete was arranged by the rally organisers. Rally Bohemia is a round of the European Championship and will give Stuart the chance to gauge the MG against European S2000 and N4 opposition. A second MG may also appear with a well known driver, confirmation will be made on MG S2000 Sport Online News.

It would now appear that the second MG for Rallye Bohemia will not be there, despite negotiations for it to happen.

Mick Jones also mentioned about the running costs of the MG and how cheaper they were compared to the Evo9 they were running in last years PWRC. Mick also feels the car has been well engineered and will be competitive against current S2000 and Group N competition, as was up there on the recent Jim Clark.

In other MG news, Roy White has decided to abandon plans to contest Ypres due to family business commitments according to rallynews.net. Speculation surrounding Janne Tuohino hiring an MG for NORF and RallyGB has yet to be confirmed though it does say on his website that he is looking to hire a competitive car for NORF.
