Stuart Jones hopes to contest next year's IRC by raising funds through a deal struck with his existing sponsor Lico, according to Motorsport News.
His family run SJR Motorsport team distributes Lico products and 10% of all sales will go towards raising the £250,000 required to enter the IRC series. Jones will continue to use the MSD MG S2000 he has driven in this year in the BRC.
Jones commented to MN:
The IRC seems the way to go with the MG. There's more S2000 competition in the IRC, and it's much cheaper to enter than the PWRC.
The car is still in the development phase. Our first priority is to ensure we've got a reliable car, because the pace is already there. By the start of next season we expect it to be a consistent winner - and I'm also aiming to become one of the country's best salesman."
