Stuart Jones is concentrating on the British Rally Championship for the rest of the year in the MG super 2000

MG driver Stuart Jones states the team will focus on the BRC for the rest of the season. Jones was speaking to Crash radio and states he is going to try and win the championship. The team had contemplated a trip to Rally Germany but that dosen't appear likely as all efforts and budget are going towards the BRC assault. Though Jones did add if an opportunity did come up to do a WRC or European event, later in the year, he would take it but this would very much depend on budget.

Jones is only one point behind championship leader David Higgins and feels he has a real chance with the next two rounds being on tarmac. The car has shown huge potential on tarmac with a second o/a on the Jim Clark. Jones also said that the recent Rally Bohemia had been worthwhile as got more miles under his belt and set some good stage times while getting the set-up perfected. This was despite retiring with power steering problems on SS10. Jones also commented that there are some engine developments coming for the MG and everything else is pretty perfect with the car particularly the chasis. Jones's next event is this weekend's BRC Rally Isle of Man.
