Stilo helmets, made in Italy, have clinched both the major FIA touring car and rally championships. Last month, Stilo-equipped Sebastien Loeb won his sixth consecutive World Rally title for Citroen. Recently he was joined by SEAT driver Gabriele Tarquini, who became the oldest man to win a major FIA title by clinching the World Touring Car Championship at the age of 46.
Whether it is on the circuit or the rally stage, no matter what the conditions, Stilo helmets and their fully integrated communications systems have consistently shown themselves to be the choice of champions.
Both Loeb and Tarquini faced a challenging season at the cutting-edge of motorsport, but they were helped along every kilometre of the way by their Stilo equipment. Their achievements bring to a conclusion another extremely successful season for the stylish Italian helmet manufacturer, which also won the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season thanks to Peugeot UK's Kris Meeke and the Formula 2 Championship courtesy of Andy Soucek.
Tarquini, a former British and European Touring Car Champion, is delighted to become the most recent addition to the list of Stilo title-winners after a stylish victory in Macau. The Italian had to overcome an accident in qualifying and incident-packed race to claim his first World Touring Car Championship title.
The SEAT driver, who was just beaten to the FIA WTCC title last year, said: "It feels absolutely fantastic to win this title, particularly because after the accident in qualifying I really thought that our championship chances were over. I'd like to thank everyone who has made this title possible: the support from all my partners, including Stilo, has been fantastic all year."
Stilo's Elena Perini concluded: "It's not often that a single helmet manufacturer claims both titles in the two major FIA championships for rallying and racing, so it is a credit to the design and characteristics of our helmets that we have been able to do this in two such diverse forms of motorsport. Gabriele's title marks a successful conclusion to our season, which has seen Stilo helmets at the forefront of the action on both the stage and the track. On behalf of everyone at Stilo, I'd like to offer Gabriele and the entire SEAT team our sincere congratulations for this latest achievement."
