Dani Sordo, driving the Citroen C4 WRC, became the first Spaniard to win the Bettega Memorial Rallysprint today. Carlos Sainz could only achieve second on the event back in 1987.
Sordo beat Gigi Galli into second place by posting the best aggregate time after the pair won two races each in the final. Petter Solberg (driving the Subaru entry as a replacement for Chris Atkinson) claimed third spot ahead of Kris Meeke.
Meeke had disposed of double world champion Marcus Gronholm in the previous round to cap off a pretty remarkable weekend in the elderly Xsara, he also finished ahead of Francois Duval who was piloting an Aimont Racing Subaru.
