Skoda Fabia S2000 presentation video with Baumschlager and Kopecky, the car has some new modifications

Skoda have been testing the S2000 again and released a presentation video for the Czech media at a press conference. The video features Kopecky and Baumschlager on tarmac. Kopecky was in the black car while Baumschlager was in the white one. The white car featured new modifications such as different rear wheel arches, more bonnet vents and a new rear wing. The black car appeared to be the model featured in previous tests. The Skoda Motorsport press conference today announced that there will be a Fabia S2000 on static display at Rally Bohemia. It will not be running as course car as was previously thought.

Just as many times in the past, the 35th Rally Bohemia will again, on 4 July, start from the Škoda Auto Museum in Mladá Boleslav. Beginning on Friday, 4 July, the rally will take place under the auspices of the car manufacturer with the winged arrow in its emblem. Surrounded by Škoda’s “automobile town”, the rally promises to offer an attractive show, a vintage car race and, as part of the start-ramp presentation, the first appearance of the prototype of the Škoda Fabia Super 2000, the company's latest competition vehicle.

The Škoda Fabia Super 2000 is fitted with a two-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine based on the standard 2.0. FSI / 110 kW unit, a six-speed sequential transmission, four-wheel drive and three passive differentials. The length of the vehicle is 3,992 mm, the width 1,978 mm and the wheel base 2,486 mm. All parameters of the vehicle comply with the FIA regulations.

Further news re: Jan Kopecky, and it appears he won't be going to Rally Russia following his crash on Ypres which is being investigated by Belgian police. His 207 appears too badly damaged (engine) to be repaired in time.
