The organisers of the SATA Rallye Azores have announced at a press conference today (11 October 2009) that the event will be part of the 2010 IRC calendar, taking place July 15-17.
There is also a possibilty that the rally will be included in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge for 2011 as well.
The contracts for 2010 were signed in Paris earlier this week by the organisers from each event and team bosses from the leading constructors (Fiat, Peugeot, Skoda, Proton...).

Meanwhile, the 2010 IRC calendar is expected to contain three new events, with Argentina, Japan (to replace Rally Russia) and Cyprus (likely to be the final round) tipped to join the series.
Francisco Coelho (President of GDC) has stated that the official IRC calendar will be released next week.
