The story of the 2001 San Remo Rally in which Gilles Panizzi won for the second year in a row behind the wheel of a Peugeot 206 WRC.
The rally also heralded the arrival of Sebastien Loeb as a serious WRC contender with him finishing 2nd overall in a Citroen Xsara and he was only 11s behind Panizzi. Colin McRae and Richard Burns though, had a forgetable event with Burns crashing his Subaru out on SS1 while McRae could only muster 8th o/a in an uncompetitive Focus.
