Kris Meeke set a stunning time in his Peugeot 207 S2000 on the 27.82km SS5 of Rally Sanremo 2009.
IRC points leader Meeke was quickest by 10 seconds over the mountainous test to move back up to 3rd place overall, only 4.9 seconds behind the leader. Abarth's Luca Rossetti was 3rd fastest on the stage and now leads the rally by 4.3 seconds from the Peugeot of overnight leader Paolo Andreucci.
Kronos driver Nicolas Voullioz suffered a puncture near the end of the stage and is now 12 seconds behind Meeke.
