Carlos Sainz wants to run as Zero Car on the Colin McRae Stages using a Subaru Impreza 555

Carlos Sainz wants to run as course car on the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally using his old Subaru Impreza from the 1995 RAC rally, according to the organisers. Sainz knows the owner of the car who lives in Spain and wants to use it on the McRae Stages. There is a problem however, the MSA want someone with suitable course car experience and are being pretty stingent with the rules regarding this and Sainz may be ruled out as a result, though he did do course car duties in Portugal 2005. Lets hope the MSA see sense over this issue as it would be more than fitting to have Sainz run the Impreza.

It would now appear that Mikko Hirvonen will be unable to contest the event due to testing duties with Ford. Also, it may be unlikely that any current WRC stars will be in attendance but let's hope that changes.
