Valentino Rossi now linked to a works Ford Focus for Wales Rally GB 2008

Moto GP superstar Valentino Rossi is now being linked to an M-Sport Focus for Wales Rally GB according to Motorsport News.

Apparently he has stopped negotiations with Prodrive about running a Subaru S14 and has since signed a deal with M-Sport to contest the Monza Rally. Malcolm Wilson has confirmed that he is talking to Rossi's people about also driving a works Focus on Rally GB.

Wilson stated to MN:

It would be an honour to have a multiple world champion like him drive for our team."

Meanwhile, Motorsport News have revealed that Rally GB bosses may run a mixed surface event in the future. Rally GB boss Andrew Coe admitted it is something they may consider in the future but have yet to investigate.
