Red Bull have confirmed they will continue to sponsor the Citroen Sport team in the 2009 World Rally Championship.
The news was announced just after Sebastien Loeb secured victory for the team in Corsica and edged the team closer to the drivers' and manufacturers' title. Red Bull began their sponsorship relationship with Citroen in March of this year.
Citroen Sport's director Olivier Quesnel commented:
It is great news that the collaboration between Red Bull and Citroën is to continue next year. It is a sign of confidence and shows that there is a perfect fit between our two brands."
Sebastien Loeb welcomed the news:
One of the first tangible signs of the arrival of Red Bull as a partner was a new livery for our C4 WRCs which I took to at once.
I think it reinforces Citroen's image as an innovative brand. Red Bull is involved in extreme, trendy sports that enjoy extensive media coverage, and the fact that it has decided to continue in the World Rally Championship next year is excellent news for rallying!"
